Africans in Content will be a media brand that curates, interviews, and tells the stories of successful Africans working in the content world — from employees to founders, business owners, and freelancers.

The success of every industry in the digital space is driven by content, yet there is hardly anybody telling the stories of the major players and their work—especially in Africa. I would like to change that.

The brand will launch as a YouTube channel, using the MagnatesMedia-style of narration and storytelling to highlight the inspiring journeys of people across the industry: writers, artists, photographers, cinematographers, website owners, content managers, communication executives, content tool founders, social media and community managers, content creators, and influencers — anyone whose career or business is heavily driven by content.

Beyond the YouTube channel, we will create a website that serves two purposes:

  1. A niche job board dedicated to content-related roles and gigs.

  2. An anonymous forum/community (similar to Fishbowl) where industry players can share insights, experiences, and advice safely, while newcomers can ask questions and learn from others.

Project Status

This project is still at the idea stage, and I’m not certain when it will be executed. It will require time and resources, and balancing that with a full-time job and other side projects will make it challenging to commit to in the near term.

Role in the Project

If I decide to move forward with this project, I will not be working on it alone. My main role will be research scriptwriting, while video editing will be mostly outsourced.

Note: My side projects do not interfere with my full-time job. I work on them only on weekends, making steady progress without affecting my main responsibilities.
